I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. I have worked in a variety of settings including: a middle school, trauma center, MHMRA, hospice, and psychiatric hospital. I have worked with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses including: grief/loss, trauma, abuse, stress/anger management, family/relationship conflicts, social skills, LGBTQ issues, gender identity, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and intellectual disabilities.
I provide counseling for children/adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I take an individualized approach and use client-centered therapy because each person is unique with various needs. I use play therapy with young children because it can be difficult for them to communicate how they are feeling through words. I also use a mindfulness based approach to connect your mind and body. Other counseling techniques I frequently utilize are Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems Therapy.
