I''m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist and hold the status of Supervisor by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners as well as the Association for Play Therapy. I earned my Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston's Graduate School of Social Work.  I've been in the mental health field for the past thirty years, the last fifteen specializing in children, adolescents and families.

My  background includes working at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, North East Hospice, Houston and Aldine Independent School Districts, Northwest Assistance Ministries' Family Violence Center and Private Practice.  I have specialized experience working with children and adults who experience stress associated with: changes in family, family dissolution, relocation, adjustment disorders, physical and sexual abuse, family violence, trauma, grief and loss.  I also provide primary or adjunct therapy to children with behavioral disorders such as anxiety, depression, shame and anger.

I'm a trained ARK facilitator (Adults Relating to Kids), a parenting program that teaches parents how to discipline their children with love. I also facilitate Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT), a parenting program that teaches parents of children 3 to 14 years old, to effectively listen and respond, therefore closing any possible communication gap between them.
